I just choked on the price of Martin Senour's Tech Base in a 2006 Dodge 'Top Bannana' gallon of paint. Jobber price - $378!!!!!

So, I made an instant decision to go with the more economical Cross Fire system BC. Don't know if it was a good one at this point.

I'm using a buff 2K primer over black.

The tech sheet doesn't address the issue.

Question: Willl the Cross Fire cover as well, or have more a chance for bleed through?

Do I have to lay down a base or sealer?

I used the Crossfire line for about a year in my Body shop, I thought it was good paint, I only stopped using it because of color match issues, but if doing an overall you should have no problems. Keep in mind that tec-base mixes 1part base to 1 part reducer, the crossfire is 2 parts base to 1 part reducer, so you will end up with less paint . I shot alot of crossfire directly over 2K primer, I do think it takes a little more paint to get it cover. You should probably use a similar colored primer-sealer under it. I believe martin senour has a line of tintable sealers that they can custom mix for you, All in all , i liked the paint, and the crossfire clears are very good andd easy to shoot. Hope this helps. Ed
