anybody have any pics of them for an A-body?
i see them listed in Jeg's catalog, but the ones shown aren't for and A-body...they appear to have a "lever" type thing mounted on the end, and i'm assuming that they all have this, and that it's part of the "lift" feature.
does anybody know for sure? it it a total bolt in?

i've have a set of the "southside machine bars" on my 68velle & am really happy with them.
yes they are a total bolt on, you can also use your stock sway bar with them also, there are bolt holes provided, i use a sway bar on my set-up.
you can set the pinion angle with them by adjusting the brackets & slight grinding, but is much easier with adjustable upper control arms.
you have to drill 2-holes in the shock mounting bracket on the axle brackets to secure the machine bar mounting plates. i also had to relocate the e-brake cables due to clearance problems, just a simple L-shaped bracket was fabricated for this. i'm running a 427/tremec trans combo with gears/slicks & found after some hard launches that the brackets had shifted slightly, after repositioning the machine brackets a couple of times i welded the bracket to the axle. to be "legal" in the "stock classes" the bars can only be bolted on though.
i've had ladder bars & stop hop bars on the car : These are the best i've used, the car launches hard & straight - rides like a normal velle.
can get you photos if you want: vince427bb@wmconnect

thanks for the info guys...i am open to any suggestions since there are so many quality products out there that it can be confusing.
i have 2 - 3 weeks before my new Currie 9" housing gets here, and i'll need to figure out whatn i'm going to do before then.

I installed the Jegster lift bars and the Jegster adjustable uppers. The lift bars are identical to the SSM bars. I would suggest getting double adjustable uppers though. I have the single adjustable and you have to unbolt them from the housing to adjust them, you don`t have to do that with double adjustables. Overall I`m pretty happy with the set up.

i think the edelbrocks are but there are some others. Basically the double adjustables have jam nuts on both ends and you loosen those and tund the body to adjust the angle. With the single adjustable there is only one jam nut and you have to remove it from the housing to turn it. I`ll probably go to double adjustables pretty soon.
