I got my clear coat finished to night and it did not come out smooth like I expected. This is my first paint job so I dont know what it should look like but it is not smooth. Im not sure if there was something wrong with the gun(made in china) or if it was something else I did. It is PPG concept 2021.I was wondering if sanding can fix roughness over a whole paint job or did I just waste alot of time and money. If I can fix it by sanding how long do I need to wait. Thanks.

Sure you can sand it. You should do a search on "wet sanding or "color sanding". You can sand it the next day usually and buff it in a week.

Orange peel? Lightly wet sand, be careful not to sand through to the color.

The best painters in the world still get some orange-peel. My Dad's been painting for 30+ years (body shop owner) and we have to sand and buff all the time. Painted my car yesterday, and will be doing the same. Don't worry, if you buff it right, it'll look like a pro painted it (assuming the prep-work was done well)
