I am thinking about chroming my hood hinges and I have heard of some people that couldn't get thier hood to line back up after they had them chromed. Has anyone had good or bad experiences?

Scribe around the hinge base and where it attaches to the hood before you take them off it it will still line up. Chrome won't have any affect. You can also drill small (1/8") holes through the hinge into the hood and fender to act as alignment guides. Just stick in a 1/8" rod to re-align. Chroming the spring might be a problem. I think you're supposed to stretch it out with a home-made spreader and then chrome it.

PS: Oil the pivots before installation.

Bob do you have your hinges chromed? I wasn't sure if the chrome thickness would have an affect on the hinges location that what happened to a friend of mine. The back of the hood was too high and there was no way to get it to adjust down. Thanks for you info.
