Just learning how to spray. Did my firewall yesterday. Turned out nice. But when I went to mix the paint with reducer, etc I didn't know what kind of container to use. Is a plastic pour pitcher okay. Is plastic bad for some kinds of paints, such as etch prime. Is metal better? What do you guys use to mix paint then pour into your gun cup?

Go to the store where you buy auto paint . They should have plastic cups with measurements on them. The cups are low cost, clean, and disposable.

The cups are nice but if your in a jam or just plain cheap buy a universal metal mixing stick at your paint supply place. It will have all the common ratios on it,4:1,2:1,1:1 ect. Then raid your recycling bin. Soup cans and jars work good,Plus the jars with lids you can seal up and save stuff like etch prime that has a potlife of a few days.Make SURE you clean them out good with thinner before you use them. This is good for primer and small amounts of paint but If your doing a lot, like say a quart or qallon, go for the mix cups, the quarts are like .25 each and come with a lid.
