I have just got a 93 camaro z28 it has the 5.7 ls1 right before it shifts when i'm on it hard it pops , kinda sounds like a intake back fire ? I need to put plug wires on it one is bad could that bad wire cause it to pop ? It is a 93 camaro auto about 98,000, Any help thanks guys...

I'd check fuel filter and pressure. Could be leaning out at high rpm or heavy load.

I'd say it's time for a good tune up.

Also the 93 is an LT1 engine, just so you dont get the wrong info.

With 98K on it, the opti is probably going south. If that's the case, it'll get worse with time.
