Valspar paint is about half the price of the Dupont. Anyone have any experience with this brand of paint...good or bad? I'm not looking for a show quility paint job, but would like it to look nice without having to give up my first born. The supplier suggested using Valspar base coat and then the Dupont Clear to save a little money, What do you guys think?
Thanx,
Dwayne

I' ve used it and it worked out OK.I wouldn't try to match a color with it but for an overall job it will work.It was about $15 a qt.cheaper than Dupont when i bought it.If you want to save some more dough, try Duponts Nason line of clear, its cheaper and looks just as good as the expensive stuff.

I used House of Kolor paints (now owned by Valspar) and I must say the paint looks and sprays extremely nicely!!! Gloss, flow out, and overall ease of use is spectacular! Take a look for yourself

PPG also makes a nice single stage that is a little thin (so you have to work faster than normal) but also does a nice job! Good Luck with your painting.. It's really FUN! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif
PS those shots were before color sanding and Buffing!
