Could someone please post pics of the rear of a 67 SS that shows where the black is supposed to terminate, where the black 'connects' the two tail light bezels? I need to know how to terminate the black portion where this meets the trunk sill. Any photos you could post would be greatly appreciated (obviously a black car won't work http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif ) Also, is this supposed to be semi-gloss or gloss?

Thanks in advance.

i didnt realize how weird the black was on 67's compared to 66..should be semigloss in between the aluminum moldings, looks like flat above and below. ive seen that before, how it goes into the trunk like that

Actually.....

There are two different versions of the Blackout into the trunk area...I have photos I can send later...look on page 13 of the 67 Chevelle showroom brochure for the second version.

The black out is SATIN BLACK...the idea is to match the front grill...as it was for 66 SS as well.

I would not use the photo above as a guide to doing it right...no offense to the gentlemen who posted it.

Regards

Mike

Mike,

Which showroom? I can't find the "67 Chevelle" showroom in the listing. Am I missing something?

JIM

The 67 Chevelle Showroom Brochure, as in the original Literature...sorry for confusing you http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

The other guy...why such a negative flare to your response? Why take my response as a personal insult to yours?? and I do not think the guy asking the question wants a response like "who cares about exactness" and the rest of your snide remark...If he didn't care about doing it right, why would he have asked the question??

I hope you don't need help some day.

I believe that the separation line runs at at 45 degrees to the rain gutter. My 2 cents

Just click the link to the 67 Survivor. This is 1000% true to form from GM never repainted, so I don't think it will get any more accurate than this.

good luck

(Edit) Didn't fully read your request, I don't have any shots of where the black terminates, but I can go look and let you know, possibly get a pic for you.

The Survivor pictures cut off at the detailed area I'd like to see. Any shots of it right at the lower corner you could post?

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate them.
