: how do I cure my illness?

I must have some sort of mental disorder. Almost every time I go out to work on my car, which is stored about a hour away from me, I tell me wife,"I`ll be home at xx o`clock." That time usually comes and goes and I`m still either wrenching on the car or BS`ing with my buddies that I never get to see anymore since we moved out of town. Today I told my wife I would be home by 5pm and instead I was picking up a engine block 2 hrs from home. I just can`t seem to control my urges to buy parts, which I try to hide from my wife, or to work on my car in one day when I have the whole weekend to get something done.

Am I the only one?

Sorry, there is no cure! You will just have to be extra nice to her when you can and hope she understands this terrible illness we all "suffer" from.

The best cure is to buy her a convertible. Then she'll be buggin' you to go get her parts so she can drive it.

Why would you want to cure the disease that a few of us have? I do the same thing, Buying parts & putting them in the garage when she isn't looking.

Hiding parts, that's nothing... buying cars without her finding out is a little more of a challenge :D

"Where'd this car come from?"
"Uh... I found it when I was cleaning out the shed"

He he, that's what the local Mini-Stor is for :D When she sees the bill, you say "honey that's where I store my alcohol". Then she'll be relieved when she finds out it's only a car.

LMAO, that's what I did. Spent this whole weekend working on the seats for it, too..
