When a engine gets bored-it means that the owner takes it to a engine shop. With many miles on the engine-it becomes oversized. A good machine shop can make a new engine by adding new pistons-rings-bearings-etc.I taught high school auto shop for 30 yrs. and I always told them to purchase books on how to fix your car. There are many great books that will help you. My collection runs close to 500 manuals-1909 to present. Check this web site for manuals and books..........

It is not how many times but how much wider the piston bore has been machined. 30 hundredths over or 60 hundredths over the stock bore diameter.

Thirty or sixty THOUSANTHS???

(commonly expressed as "Thirty (sixty) over", and written out as 0.030 or 0.060.)

And this can only be done so many times before the block doesn't have enough metal thickness left so it usually gets tossed or has sleeves installed in the cylinders.

Does it mean that because your 350 is stock, it is bored because when you get on it, nothing much happens?
