I have a 67 convertible 4 speed SS with the a factory gauge package and blinker tach. Everything in the dash works (except tach) and looks good. The problem is that I am missing the large lens that goes over the speedometer and other gauges and has MPH numbers on it. Is there any easy way (trick) to install the new lens without taking apart the dash? I hate to do that since everything else is doing good and I don't want to open a can of worms. Thanks for any help you can give.

you have to remove the crome bezzel around the cluster to get to the lens. to get to that you must remove the cluster from the dash.

Can you remove the dash cluster without removing the whole dash?

might be able to do it if you drop the column. it's still going to be a tight fit even if you have small hands.

I think it would be next to impossible to remove the cluster with the dash intact.I just changed dashes and and its not all that bad.

Dropping the dash is easier then trying to fish it up through all the wiring and braces. I don't know if it will even come out with the dash in place. Bite the bullet and remove all the phillips screws, the bottom edge bolts, speedo cable, and start to wrestle it out of there. Kept an eye on the heater control cables so you don't damage them. Good time for new light bulbs and maybe a new glove box liner.
