Hi folks!
Bought me a -63 Buick Skylark 2D Ht (pre-Chevelle) and I`m going to put in a 350hp CSB350+TH350 for a start, mybe a 4-speed manual later.
Now I`m wondering what would be the right way to go on a tight budget; uppgrade the original front suspension or swap into a newer w. disk-brakes.
A friend offered me a 80`s Malibu-front, but it is about two inches too wide for the old Buick.

What is their chassis? Does it share any parts with a Chevelle, or was this a whole different setup?

Whish I knew! Have to check out the -64 Chevelle, at least they`ve got the same tailights..

The guys over at www.teambuick.net could at least tell you if the parts will interchange between 63 and 64. If they will then any of the kits for a 64 chevelle should work. 61-63 skylark is a Y body according to this site http://www.mbmbrakeboosters.com/body_styles.html

Thanks, but if I`m going to replace the front-suspension it must be into a newer one with disc-brakes. I`ve been on a couple of Buick-sites w.o. finding any info on just this modell. The -63 is something between the -62 and -64, looking like a -64 Chevelle from behind. It`s also looking much like a Pontiac Tempest:confused:
First thing I`ll do now is to try to order some replacement-parts for it. If they are awayable I might just keep it on and uppgrade the brakes later.

Something similar to this is what I was refering too when I said kits for a chevelle. http://www.scandc.com/suspensions.htm#streetcomp2 , or this http://www.globalwestsuspension.com/cart/show_items.asp?CategoryID=35#products .
