: 2002 Dale Earnhardt Monte Carlo SS-Deal of the Day!
northernforce Mar 25th, 06, 8:24 AM First off-I know the car is a 6 cylinder and front wheel drive -but this car will be my daily driver--our 95 Transport van died a few weeks ago and since the wife drives the new car(always the case) Iwanted to get a good used monte carlo--I must have looked at 20- 25--then while surfing the net I found one for sale in downtown Toronto(about 60 miles from home) I could not believe my eyes--2002 Dale Earnhardt Intimidator edition Monte SS--mint mint --18K mile only on it --I got it for $16 Canadian or about$13,500 U.S--can't wait to take a picture of this black machine beside my white (black stripes) 70 ragtop--just had to tell-now time to get it dirty--it snowed here this morning--have a good weekend folks and keep on cruising-----Dave.
GRN69CHV Mar 25th, 06, 10:26 AM Have an '01 Monte SS - white w/tan leather int. Car runs great. Plenty of power, handling is great. int room, good size trunk. I've said this before - Chevy needs to make a car this size (c/w real back seat), but with the new LS1 powerplants, rear wheel drive and a spd trans.
novaderrik Mar 25th, 06, 11:14 AM well, Pontiac was selling a RWD/V8/6 speed car like that, but all anyone did was bitch about it..
those newer Monte's are pretty sweet- FWD or not. they have a proven drivetrain that will go forever with regular maintainance in a good solid, roomy chassis. get good mileage, too, if you get the 3.8 in it.
plus, they actually stand out on the road- they have real clean, unique body lines, which is getting rarer and rarer these days.

Of course if it had been a decent car and had somebody besides Pontiac market it, things might be different..

Haha, that is true :D
Congrats on the Monte, enjoy it NF
THORSS70 Mar 25th, 06, 1:07 PM Of course if it had been a decent car
circletrack Mar 25th, 06, 1:41 PM Have a 2000 with over 150,000 miles on it. Can't go wrong with those cars!
GRN69CHV Mar 25th, 06, 1:44 PM I like the new GTO, would like to see this same package in a larger body with a full size bak seat instead of the 2+ platform.
Cameano Mar 25th, 06, 2:37 PM I was just thinking a couple days ago, it's been 5 years. :( Can't say I'm much interested in the sport anymore, either. Decent deal on the car, though.
webfoot Mar 25th, 06, 5:29 PM Congrats, I have a pic of my 2002 LS in my sig.
You'd be surprised how much stuff you can do to that 3800! Doesn't take much to get one into the 14s which isn't too shabby for a v6.
