I will be using the Eastwood underhood paint. Do I have to clear coat it? Will clear coat hold up the heat in underhood?

I didn't use any clear coat over mine and it still looks good after 5 years.

How many coats did you apply?

There is not enough heat under your hood to make any difference what so ever. The only place there is too much heat for paint is right around the exhaust ports on the heads of the motor and the heat passage on the intake and exhaust system it's self. All underhood like the firewall, air cleaners, valve covers, heater box, can be painted with whatever you want to paint it with.
