this is on my Mustang.

I sprayed off the engine today and it developed a bad backfire at low-mid range rpms, high rpms it dissapears. I located it to the rear cyl on the drivers side. When I pull the plug wire off, the cyl is dead but there is no backfire  I double checked the terminals and the cap/rotor for water and cleaned the little amount that was there but with no difference. I will pull the plug to see what it looks like. Does anyone have a clue to whats goin on?
thanks,
wes

sometimes when you wash the engine, and start it up, moisture gathers in the top of the dist. cap-pull it and dry it off-also, if the cap is old, tiny cracks appear between cyls., water gets in, causes it problems-seems to never dry out when that happens
