: New 383 Stroker for my Brothers '72 El Camino
Motorhead62 Mar 23rd, 06, 9:43 PM Last week during spring break we installed a new engine in my brother Phil's '72 El Camino. It turned out very sweet. We also did a partial detail of the engine bay as this will be a daily driver. I did a months worth of work in 7 days, kind of our version of Overhaulin' I guess.

webfoot Mar 23rd, 06, 11:47 PM Looks cool, a nice change from the blue and red. I like the air cleaner cover and the valve covers.
Motorhead62 Mar 24th, 06, 11:29 AM Thanks Clark, anyone else? :D
Motorhead62 Mar 24th, 06, 9:53 PM Oh Yea! I forgot to tell you guys, the 383 is making about 395 HP and 430 TQ and is a dream to drive. This is my brothers first real Hot Rod and he can't believe the looks and comments he gets. He went to get an inspection sticker and the technicians at the Exxon station freaked out when they opened the hood. The first day he drove around in Lubbock Texas he got about 5 comments on how cool it was. I was so happy to be able to help him make the leap to COOLNESS in owning a classic GM A-body! Another dream come true!
Motorhead62 Mar 26th, 06, 3:12 PM Any other comments? Keep them coming as we are looking for opinions. Thanks
68KMENO Mar 26th, 06, 3:48 PM day glow green :) wow ... different I sure wouldn't want to have to keep em clean... I like the way it looks tho its nice to see that I'm not the only one with the AC still hooked up ;)
Motorhead62 Mar 27th, 06, 2:14 PM Yes, the AC is nice on Hot Texas Days! The AC blows ice chunks out of the dash!
Busted Knuckles Mar 27th, 06, 2:22 PM What's the combo and where did you find those day-glo wires? There are quite a few hotrodders here in Lubbock as well as lots of folks that appreciate the classics. If you like being different under the hood, I think you've accomplished your goal. I'm sure you'll be glad you have "ice chunk blowing A/C" on those hot days in West Texas.
Olle Mar 27th, 06, 2:53 PM What do yall think of the color combination? :D
Alright, here's the comment you're obviously expecting: That Day-Glo stuff sucks big time! The rest looks awesome, but that green color hurts my eyes. Sell it to a ricer! So, there! :D
