Anyone know of an "assembly" type manual for the installation of tops. Mine car came in a "basket" so I've never seen it together. I have a shop that wants to install it and says he knows the methods, but its an old car and I don't know how it goes......

Get yourself a 'Body by Fischer' manual. They are the companion to the chassis service manuals. It has a whole chapter devoted to the installation of the convertible top with illustrations and diagrams. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif

Thanks for the pointer. I'll see if I can locate one.

Dave,

sxtysix is right, the Fisher Body manual is a big help. I got mine on eBay, from a guy in Neosho, MO who sells a LOT of manuals. His seller name is 'auto4' and I would recommend him.

Dave -
A basket??? Looks like a concourse resto compared to my piece!(Check out my sig)

I second the vote for the fisher manual - there is a entire section dedicated to the top install. Also I picked up a Camaro Restoration handbook which has a visual step-by-step. While the outcome is different the steps are similar.

When are you planning on install??

Thanks, its coming along..... probably be "topping" it off in May or so. I can drive around topless down here http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif We had our yearly rain last week. 4", that is 4" between drops on the ground. Lasted about 2 minutes. So next rain will be about October or so. I'm into suspension right now. Got tires/wheels yesterday and have ordered BMR control arms this AM.
