I installed ES poly body bushings on my 'velle over the past weekend, and it went amazingly well. I put only about 3 hours work in the entire job.

This car has really surprised me since I've been rebuilding the suspension and drivetrain, underneath there is virtually no rust, and that part of the car has never been touched. The body bushing holes were rust free, and the bolts had very mild corrosion. I didn't realize what a 'surviver' my car was until I really got into the nooks and crannies, expecting to find at least some rust, and to my surprise they are still in incredible condition.

I did have to cut 2 holes though...apparently the nuts were not welded in at all for the bushings right in front of the doors on both sides. they spun with very little force... and when I pulled back the carpet and drilled an access hole, I found no sign that they were ever welded to the floorpan. It was still fairly easy though, I was able to hold them with pliers for the bushing replacement. All the other bushings went out/in with no trouble.

I consider myself very lucky smile.gif

I just installed prothane poly body bushings in mine last weekend also.

I like them so far. I haven't heard any squeeks that others have spoken of. They actually squeek LESS than the new (1 year old) rubber bushings I had in there before (rubber core support bushings would squeek, even after re-tightening). The ride is also good. It is a little firmer, but not jarring at all.

Post back how you like your bushing's performance after you put some miles on them.

My car still won't be on the road for a while yet, so I can't say how I like the bushings yet :(

I guess I lucked-out when I replaced mine too. Didn't even have to use any liquid wrench. All the bolts came out with ease.

I hate you sissy boys and your rust free cars. They don't build the caracter that rusted/stuck bolts provide. Years from now you don't even get to join in on how you broke this or cut that and the trips to the emergency room. Wait never mind the post. graemlins/clonk.gif
