Hey guys. Well as some of you know I am still plotting out my conversion, my current TH350 is starting to get very tired. I know some of you say Automatic is quicker, and all the side subjects of this type of thread but thats not what im looking for. I love the feel of a manual and I scored a nice little Muncie so its goin' in ;) Anyways, I built my engine last year its a 454 .30 over, 2.25 exhaust (probably upgrading someday to 2.5) somewhat mild solid cam, large oval port heads, edelbrock, headers, the typical stuff, in the area of high 400's maybe borderline 500hp, not sure. I was going through some old threads trying to pick out what I need to buy but transmissions are somewhat new to me and slightly intimidating when ordering little parts and making sure things match up properly. My car will probably never see the track so it isnt hit hard, daily driver... but obviously I do like to play with it =) Every so often... Heres what I have and what I need, I need some very strong and AFFORDABLE recomendations and perhaps part numbers which would be really helpful for this new trans. guy :) Anyways to the good stuff...

What I have:
1969 Muncie (Out of a camaro) 10 spline
GM Bell Housing
Hurst Shifter
Firewall Plate (Thanks to Thad!!!)

What I need:
Flywheel (Probably a GM)
Clutch/ Pressure Plate (Prefferably a set to keep things simple cant afford a centerforce, want a GM/ McLeoud or Zoom although I hear not to go w/ Zoom)
Clutch Pedal Setup (Looking on eBay)
Then some small stuff like shifter boot and a nice new center console, but that stuff comes last...

Ive read alot about which size flywheel/ clutch to use and not to use, it can get pretty choosey and tricky. So I need a little simplicity and help there... Also, when buying a new flywheel can I use my old starter? I think mine now is a 153 tooth, standard 454 starter from kragen. Ok it's late, im off to sleep.. .thanks for your help!

The only input I have to offer is to buy a clutch pedal kit from OPGI or other places. The kits include all of the little clips and springs and rods you`ll need besides the pedals. My buddy did this swap in his 67 camaro an wished he just bought a kit. it makes it easier.

As for flywheel selection this one seems good, summit part number: NAL-14096987

Yeah I think so too... id be scared to buy used. I can see myself falling over little stuff in the garage and tracking down tiny clips and pieces Id need. The OPG ones look good, these on eBay look the same, they have a GM part number as well, a little better on price too.

Hmmm, perhaps someone can move the thread then. I felt it applied to both sections :) Sorry. I have been gone a while! Took some trips.
