i've got a '67 malibu originally equipped w/ the rear mount ant., but somewhere during it's history, there was a front end accident and it was switched to front mount. i'm re-painting the car in a week or two, and can't find a kit for the rear mount..... anyone know where i can get them? i need everything.

also, if i don't do the rear mount conversion, i was thinking of hiding the antennea.... something like running it along the underside of the top of the front pass. fender. is this a good idea? will reception suffer at all?

i think it would be cool to have either the rear mount, or something subtle like a hidden ant. anyone ever do something like this?

I've got a 66 and I had the rear antenna hole filled. I also plan on a hidden antenna or I have seen a unit that sits under the dash and works off 12 volts that claimed to give reception like an outside antenna. I guess I will figure that out when needed or I will just have to play CD's.
I would like to hear any suggestions as to where a hidden antenna might work.

Check out this post for an idea on the antenna.

Now if you want to mount some type of flush mount antenna, most kits Ive seen require 8-9 in of clearance. One kit that I saw last year in KC needed just 5 1/2in of room  That should be more the plenty to mount on the front fender of a 66-67 chevelle.

Even tho they deal mostly with street rods they offer tons of stuff for chevelles, camaros, mustangs etc. You want a bolt in power windows and locks or the new High power headlight they got them. And if you ask REAL nice they will send you a huge 340 page catalog...Eric
