I'm working on a 95 Dodge Avenger. I have to replace the entire driver's quarter panel including the door jam. My question is .... What do I do about the V.I.N. tag that is on the door jam? It's a sticker so there's no way you could just peel it off and re-stick it on the new jam. What do you pro's do about something like this. Last thing I want to do is give someone the impression that the car isn't legal or legitimate.

I usually cut it out in a nice neat sqaure and rivet in back on.

Lance, my chrysler garage will reissue that label for you. Might try your local shop as well.

What I do is take a heat gun and warm up the sticker. Then take a NICE sharp razorblade to remove the sticker from the car. Spray alittle adhesive on the back and reaapply

Fords have a self destructing label, once you remove it the words VOID apprear. But what you can do is take some flat white paint and repaint the backside of the label. Then take some spray on adhesive and replace the sticker. NOONE is the wiser. Just DONT TELL THEM I told you that graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Thanks guys,
Think I'll give the heat gun idea a try on the replacement quarter and see how it works/practice before I try it on the good one.
