i believe the dash in my 70 chevelle is out of a monte carlo and the rings around the gauges are just black not silver. ive heard about paint pens but dont know what the best option is. anyone else done this?

Try using a little acetone or laquer thinner and gently wipe the ring, Gm originally chromed the whole dash and then oversprayed the black leaving the rings and letters chromed. If when removing the black from the ring they are not chromed you can use a chrome marker or a small brush with chrome paint to touch them up.Caution use very little solvent and only try a small area or you could damage the plastic.

try going to an arts/crafts store..look for "silver leaf" pen/marker..looks pretty darn close!

I used aluminum tape, I posted earlier with a solution which really shines up like chrome.
