Not sure if any of you watched, but it was a pretty good race...
Audi's R10 diesel was unbelieveably fast. 600+ hp, 800 ft-lbs of torque, and 15% more fuel efficient, its an insane piece. In qualifying it smashed the lap record by over 2 seconds. It had to start from the back in the race, and easily came up to first and controlled the race from there out. Overwhelming favorites for LeMans.
Corvette C6R's, very fast again, despite the rules that added 170 lbs of ballast to them or something, which meant they were "120 lbs" heavier than the Austin Martin, and that proved costly in the closing laps with the great battle with Max Papis. You can really see the Austin Martin get up off the corners so much faster, which for sure is mostly down to weight.
Ferrari F430 GT, of course the ALMS destroyed the car by rules. The car doesnt even have a diffuser, and thats one of the most advanced parts of the street F430, plus its E-diff. Unknown if the E-diff was banned, but I hope to get some information from an inside sourse. As a base package, the F430 is a superb car, but it appears the rules completely favor the porsches or the americanized panoz. So thats disappointing, but the car does appear much better than the 360 GT.
