I spent most of Monday welding floor pans in my Camino and after brushing on the last coat of POR 15, it sure does look good! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/cool.gif The job was'nt as tough as I thought it would be. I was somewhat intimidated to tackle this project as I never done it before and thought I might ruin my car, but the info on this site made the job alot easier! Wes Vann's article {tech ref.#6} was extremely helpful. I really just want to say Thank you to all of you who contribute your time and knowledge to this site! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

70Elky396;
I'm glad that you found the techref helpfull. It's kind of funny, but that was written about three years ago and I did the work about four or five years ago.
By any chance did you take photos that would be better than the ones that I took (I didn't envision the techref stuff at the time I did the work)
Did you use the "three per side" pans or the single (per side) pan. Why did you decide on the pans you used and were you happy with the fit (as supplied).
Please resist stating where you got the pans.

Wes, I took a bunch of photos with my 35mm during the process, but don't have them devolped yet. I do have a picture of a bad spot that I tool about a month ago, and one that I snapped with a polaroid last night,(a before and after shot.) Im not sure how to post them, the picture quality is not that great, but it gives you the idea.
I used the three per side pans. I did'nt replace all six pans, I replaced the driver side front (middle pan) and RH and LH rear pans. I did'nt replace the entire pan, I only repaired where needed, roughly 20 x 20 sections up to the first crossmember supports. The pans fit better than I expected, with the exception of the wire harness valley on the drivers side. It did'nt seem to be stamped deep enough, which left a gap that I had to fill with sealer. They were priced $10 to $15 per pan cheaper than their competitors, and they were in stock ready to ship.

Congrats Frank on a job well done. You tackled something that would intimidate most (self included) and you did it right the first time. That's awesome man. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/cool.gif Hat's off to you!

Go here, Chief: http://www.chevelles.com/techref/
Click on #6. I would have given you the exact link, but I thought you might be interested in some of the other articles. By the way, you should really check all the clickable links beginning with the ones on the main Team Chevelle page. The amount of information available is astounding. There is also an article by Chuck Hanson here: http://www.chevelles.com/aces/vol3/vol3_floor.html Much of it is the same info, reinforcing the fact that what Wes says is right, but there are different pictures on the ACES site.
