Raining here in San Diego, so I decided to do some work on the dash lights. Boy what a terrible design. Little metal clips that push into a plastic holders. When you try to remove the assembly from the dash, the metal clip comes out of the plastic, the bulb falls down inside of the guage unit, and then you finally pull the metal clip free from the back of the dash panel. WOW.

Surely by now someone has come up with a replacement for this mess..???
I am sure looking at converting to a Covan dash rather than staying stock. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

I know what your going through, most of the metals on mine just plain broke. I think what I am going to do is just get a new dash harness.

When you put the clips in the holders, put a drop of epoxy on the part that sticks into the holder. That'll help hold them in. When you take them out of the dash, use a small, thin screwdriver & pry the metal part of the clip instead of pulling on the plastic holder. Don't feel bad, I have two bulbs laying in the bottom of my cluster right now.
