: Argon bottle heater?

Hey guys, I have an 80 cubic foot 25/75 co2/argon bottle for my millermatic 135. I just got it filled the other day, came back with 2500psi. After sitting in the garage for about 4 hours (my garage isn't really heated, I have a propane heater I turn on when I'm working, but it's just warm enough for me with gloves and a sweatshirt on), it's already down to about 1200 psi. So, this must mean I'm paying full fill price to get only a half fill. Is there some type of warmer I can put on my tank and plug in, similar to an engine block heater, to keep it warm and my pressure up?

Someone may correct me, but I dont know if you can judge the amount in the bottle by the pressure. I think you have to weigh it to know for sure. At least that is how we used to do it when I did NOS refills.

To get that much pressure change you would have either a leak or one huge temperature change , like about a decrease of 250ºF.

I agree with the leak theory. Fill up the bathtub & submerge the tank & look for bubbles. Be sure your wife's not in the tub. :D

Take it back to the gas company, they should replace it. Had that happen at the shipyard once. Had a special cryo tank delivered, for shrinking bearing's delivered from Seattle, by the time they got to Bellingham, the tank was empty.
