: 2 69 l78 post sedan cars
greg5436 Mar 18th, 06, 9:50 AM hello, i am a new member here and a current member of aces, and gateway area chevelle club.i am a 69 chevelle nut and have been working on 2 post sedan cars that i bought off ebay awhile back. one is under restoration in chicago right now and is about 70% complete.it is a daytona yellow car with the aluminun trim around the post area.this car was last registered in New Jersey and was painted black. the car was hit pretty hard in the right front. the other one is a monaco orange car with aluminum post trim and white stripe on side.it had been damaged on the right door and quarter at one time.it was last registered in PA. i posted a thread like this on yenko.net awhile back to try and see if anyone had crossed path with either car at one time but didn't have any luck.like alot of 69's no paper could be found. they were both 4-speeds with the original kk 4:10 rearends.any help on these cars would be appreciated. thanks greg cullum
Daves70SS Mar 18th, 06, 10:58 AM Greg, Who in Chicago is doing the restoration on your car?
von Mar 18th, 06, 11:04 AM Welcome. I'm a fellow '69 nut myself. Well maybe a nut in general too. If you're new to TC you'll find it a wealth of info and you can get just about any question answered here.
greg5436 Mar 18th, 06, 2:08 PM thanks von,i sent you a message. dave a good friend of mine that i met at a chevelle regional show in st. louis. dan vasic,69 chevelle nut also, works with don at N.O.S. restorations outside of chicago.they just opened a shop up and they are doing an excellant job on it.they will be taking it to chevy vette fest 1st of april but will not be 100% complete.
DUKE 69 Mar 18th, 06, 2:21 PM I too, say welcome! I'm another one of the '69 guys around here-always been my favorite yr. I have one (all done-driver) and I'm casually "looking" for another but in no hurry. Look forward to seeing some pics of your cars as they progress.
Mr. Duece Mar 18th, 06, 2:31 PM Greg, thanks for the kind words. When this car appears at Vettefest it will be 100% complete, assuming our parts supplier provides all the necessary parts.
As you would say, "YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK". Don & Dan

P.S. Who's Dave??????
Don_Lightfoot Mar 18th, 06, 3:07 PM Hmmmm. So this is the Daytona Yellow car that Dan has been telling me about over the last several months. Someday he will send me some pics like he promised ;)
Welcome to TC Greg. If you have some pics of the two cars in question (in whatever condition is just fine) I would be glad to get them. I maintain kind of a mini database of the 69 SS Sedans.
I mentioned this to Dan in the past that perhaps you could get the Yellow car to our "Northern Chevelle Gathering" in Niagara Falls, NY in July. Go to the Club link in my signature for information. I look forward to seeing it in person some day.

fastss396man Mar 18th, 06, 4:25 PM Hello Greg and welcome from Ohio.
Hello to Don, Duke and Von as well as all the other 69'rs out there today!
Trooper Mar 18th, 06, 8:32 PM Hey Greg,
Good to see you on TC. Are you going to bring the car to CB06? Do you still have that 69 trunk we talked about at CB05.
Trooper
greg5436 Mar 19th, 06, 7:57 PM trooper i still have the trunk pan.
don i will see if we can make it up in july and i told dan as soon as he gets caught up to post some pics. his computer has been down for a couple of months and i think he just got it fixed..
thanks from all the other 69ers out there.
i would think someone out on the east coast might recall one of these cars. i remember when i saw my first postcar and i said to myself some idiot put 68 doors on a 69. little did i know back then.
i know my orange post was last owned by a guy in PA. and his name was mike nelson.he was from cherry tree,PA.the guy i bought the car from thought at one time a pittsburg pirate was the original owner.don't know but it was originally titled in PA.this was last titled in 1987.
the yellow post car was last registered in new hampshire. in 2000 it came from montauk auto company in nashua. be fore that back in early 90's it was registered to a sammy cole jr. from sanborn NY. any leeds from this info would be appreciated.people with 69's know how hard it is to find documentation with the cars. thanks again greg
