I was driving home today from work and saw a 1971 Malibu rolling chassis w/ a for sale sign. Asking price 1,200, but he said he will take 1k. The car is very rough but the owner says it has a 4.10 posi that was in a 65 El Camino. I think the rear end and the chassis are the only thing that can be of any use. How much are these rear ends going for?

If it's a '65 (narrow housing) it's worth at least $600. If the gears and posi unit look good, you could probably get $800 or more.

4.10 may be a little hard to sell unless the buyer has overdrive or just wants to drag race.
