I have a oppertunity to get a used set of 235/60/15 drag radials at a good price, I am currently using 245/60/15 TA radials. Do you think that the small drag radials will improve my 60 foot time much?

What gears are you running now? How much difference in height between the two sizes? It might help a little, very little.

Bob, over regular radial TA's. Uh, I donnow.

Art, if you're going up to Leicester, or Apple Valley, I'd buy 'em in a heartbeat if they have some life left in them. $160 a side is a lot for occasional use.

Missed that part, drag radials will definately help 60ft times.

Im not overentusiastic about Dragradials. Tested them and they were poor against real slicks.

The new ET streets are a better choice of radial street tires.

And used tires are used. Poor grip.

The 245s are 26.6 inches and the 235s are 26.1 as BFG lists them. I have 3.42 gears. My 60 times are usually about 2.1 I have to come out soft.

Sounds like your 60' time is a little slow. I would get the used drag radials. Try them out. Sounds like you drag race it occasionally. What you pick up on your 60' time you will help greatly on the big end.

So if I can get a tenth or two off my 60 foot it will help my et by more? Is there a rule of thumb?

I use a tenth in 60ft equals 1.5 tenths in e.t. with my car, I guess it depends on how/where your car makes power.

While I don't have the numbers handy, I can tell you I've run my 68 4 speed car on both 275-60-15 TA Radials, and 235-60-15 Drag Radials.

The Drag radials aren't slicks, but they are a bunch better than the TA "street" radials traction wise, and I think they helped my ET due to the functionally lower rear gear too.

Don't know what price your getting, but I'd say that in my case the tire swap was worth 3 tenths with no other changes.

I run that size on my 69 z28. they are about 26 inches tall. I have left the line anyware from idle to 3500 rpm with them. Compared to the 255/60 radial ta's they replaced I can come out a little harder and probably dropped a 1/10 ro 2 in my 60 foot. I use a line lock and noticed that very minor burouts to clean the tires worked best. They hook decent in warmer weather. I hve put about 90 runs on the car probably 50 with the drag radials and i like using them but all I can honestly say is they made the car more consistant.

Yes, if you drop 3 tenths off your 60' time you will likely drop 4.5 tenths from your E.T. The formula is 1.5 times your drop in 60' time, is what you will likely lower your E.T. I have 275/50/15 M/T ET Street radials and am down to a 1.75 60' time.
