Looking for the best headers to buy that will bolt right in. Anybody have any experience with a good vendor for 1.75 primaries, full sized, bolting into a 2.5 Pypes exhaust. My main concern is that huge Air Conditioning box and is there a header out there that I won't have to pound on to make it fit. Heard about Headman Elites, but nobody ever mentions the A/C box fit.

I have a 70 with the A/C box also and a big block. I put a set of Hooker Competition headers on. They have the Ceramic coating from Hooker. They fit perfect without having to ding up any of the pipes and there is room next to the A/C box.

The Dynomax coated headers fit like a glove on a BBC

I have used several sets of Hooker C/P and never have had a problem.

Flowtechs fit really nice also.

Ive got the Summit house brand I think its the 9010 I originally bought for my 71 camaro but fit perfect in the chevelle. you can even get away with a column shifter, I did until I found the console. Jim

I have had excellent luck with the ceramic coated DYNOMAX. I buy them from Summit, free phone call, free shipping, no tax, good price.
Keep this in mind, ANY BB with headers MAY require you to install a brass fitting (or 2) to accomodate the oil pressure sending unit on the side of the block (no big deal).
