Hi all

Well I'm thinking about ordering up new interior parts for my convertible. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the kits from Ground Up. They seem like a good deal but are there any of the parts included in say the super kit that I would be better off getting from somewhere else? Thanks

Andy

Most vendors use PUI interior parts. Also try Hinshaws.

My '72 convertible interior kit came mostly from Ground Up...converted from black to white and just completed it this week.
As mentioned, most kits are manufactured by PUI.

Go direct with PUI-you will likely save time/$/aggravation, or you might want to check Lengendary (they made some nice stuff for my buddy's Buick!)-although not sure if they make Chevelle items..

The GU 'kit' would be ok, if (1) the kit really includes all you are going to need and/or (2) they remember to send you everything in one shot.

I have PUI and am mostly happy with the seat covers..there are some weird lines at a few of the seams, and I have seen the same thing in a couple really nice LS6 cars at the recent AC auction..other than that they were/are nice.

Good luck.

I purchased some interior stuff for my 70 from Ground UP. Everything was fine. It is the PUI stuff and looks and fits real good. I doubt you'll save any money buying direct from PUI, if you even can buy directly from them. Just buy from Ground Up, after all, they do sponser this site!

Bought my entire interior from them..even had a "issue"with the bench seat bottom. No problem returning it and getting another, in a very timely fashion at that. Would not buy it anywhere else.

You can't buy directly from PUI...they wouldn't even answer emails I sent with questions about their product. :(

Do the PUI '70 seat covers have the correct padding in the center ribs ? I know some manufactures do not .

Does Ted Williams reproduce interior panels? If so are they any better then PUI?

When I was going to purchase my interior I shopped all over and GU pricing was the best I could find ... I contacted then on there Manufacture and yes most of there items were PUI, all the other companies out there were the same. From my investigation if it is PUI you want and you need a complete kit GU seems to be the way to go
