: Fender Emblem Question

When I bought my 72 Malibu, it allready had repro fenders put on without any holes drilled for emblems. I was wondering if it is supposed to have the 350 emblem, as well as the Malibu script. I've seen pictures, and cars in person, done both ways. Which is correct? Thanks in advance, Dennis

Mine had a 350 emblem between the front headlight and the wheel, right above the side marker and a Malibu emblem between the door and the wheel. I was going to move or replace mine but I didnt for the fact that I love people asking if it is a 350 while it is sitting running there with the most obvious big block lope you can imagine. Its a sleeper. Just put it where you want it unless you just want it in the right spot.

Fast Orange.
Above the side marker???
Only 1970 fenders had the side markers..
I think you have a 1970 Chevelle fenders on your car.

Dennis,
The 350 Malibus came from factory with the 350 emblem right next to the Malibu emblem.
1970 and 1971 Chevelles had the 350 at the front where Fast Orange stated.. (But 71 and 72 Chevelle didn't have the side markers)

I have 72 fenders but they were cut to accommodate a 70 style side marker. I guess someone wanted an import look or something. Looks cool to me.

They go "350 Malibu" or "Malibu 350" right next to one another. Can't remember which way though, been awhile since they were on the car. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Chaos is right, Malibu 350. When I changed mine to a 454, I got emblems from a resto house for an Impala or Caprice that said 454, and they had the Malibu-correct slant like the 350 emblems. Freaked a lot of people out, including a show judge who was a serious Chevelle guy who told me that mine must be a very rare car to have the 454 option in a plain Malibu (I kept the drivetrain pretty stock-looking).

Thanks to all the above for clearing this up for me. I guess I'll call Ground Up now and get the 350 emblems to go with the new Malibu emblems. Happy New Year! Dennis
