: Resources in or near Melbourne, FL?

I'm currently a member of a great club, the Tri-State Chevelle Club in Ohio. I've enjoyed the club a lot and have had a ton of help from the other members in terms of advice and sweat. However, the Air Force has decreed that I will be moving to Melbourne, FL in about a week. Are there any good restoration/performance oriented shops and mechanics in the area that have a good reputation? Basically somewhere that's reasonably priced and you would feel comfortable taking your car to. I will be needing to have some body work/metal repair done at some point, and you never know about any mechanical issues that might come up as well.

Also, if anyone lives around there, it's always good to know where the fellow Chevelle guys are :) My car is really close to being driveable on a regular basis so I'd like to know what kind of goings-on happen around the area.

Thanks!

I dont know about the area for clubs or shops, but your more than welcome to shoot me a pm when ever you move and I can show you some good spots were I live about 1 hour north of Melbourne, near the Daytona Beach Area. Lots of stuff happens here:thumbsup: And if you get here soon you could go to the big show at the Daytona Race track on March 24-25-26 a show you dont want to miss..Lots of parts and over 5500 cars

Pauly,
You're getting closer. You should have asked for the Pensacola area. We would be within 45 minutes of each other (previous Tri State member)

Ed,
I could only go there if I was trying to be a pilot or in the (gasp) Navy :)
Good to hear from you again though. I was reminded of you the other day when a guy at the auto shop commented on how much he liked the rims that you helped hook me up with. They look great!

You are in Alabama, aren't you?

Pauly,
I am in LA (Lower Alabama) Right off I-10 on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay. I still haven't hooked up with chevelle resources within a 1 hour radius from where I live.

Wishing you good luck in finding living arrangements. Did you ever get married?

Take care.

Ed,
Yep, got married in the summer of 2004. We went down to Florida in December and bought a house in preparation for moving down there, so we are all set. Too bad you haven't found a Chevelle group, how is your workshop arrangement compared to what you had up here in Ohio? My new garage is going to be a lot smaller than the one I currently have, but I don't have as much major work to do on the car left, so it will be adequate. Plus, the weather will cooperate with me working on it in the driveway a lot more than up here :)
