I was curious as to what would be a good all-around book that has all of the casting codes, suffix codes, head codes, etc. for small and big block Chevy engines?

I see there's one called "Chevy by the numbers" but it looks like it's compiled into decades.

I'm going to use this book when I go look at engines and such to verify they are what they are so I'm looking for one book with all the codes for small and big blocks from '55 until now.

Thanks.

Chevy by the Numbers will be closer than anything else I have seen for casting #. Thats why its in 3 books to hold all the info and details.:D The little pocket books don`t even come close. I have both.

Also try www.mortec.com , They have many casting numbers for SBC, BBC, cranks, heads, ect. I printed copies of the casting numbers from their site and keep a copy in all my vehicles in case I stumble across something while i'm out and about.
