and what brand paint do you recommend for a factory original car
Thanks

For a factory original color you might want to "consult" the experts over in the Restoration Corner forum.

If your not concernd about being exactly correct, Robert is right. The POR looks like powder coating after it's set up.(even with a brush, or roller) Can't beat it, however there is a lot of prep work that goes along with it.

I used Eastwood's Chassis black on my 69 coupe, and POR-15 followed by their chassis black on my 69 conv. The POR product is definitely more durable and has a decent look to it, but for the best factory look duplication I have found Eastwood's Under Hood black to be the best. It is not nearly as durable as POR-15 though.

Maybe it does Robert if you spray it on but I had some problems trying to roll it on and brush it on. Came out kinda uneven. But than again I just decided to do mine in a gloss b/c I like the way it looked better.

The POR chassiscoat is the correct semi-gloss finish for topcoating over the straight POR. The Blackkote is the glossy powdercoat looking stuff that was mentioned previously, and it looks awesome!

i sprayed mine and it came out even but....... beware when you spray this stuff i used a certified respirator in a well ventilated area im talking exhaust fan ventilated and still couldn't breath right for 2 days afterwards if your going to spray it in large quantities you need a closed respirator system.
