Swapping 70's Muncie 4 speed into powerglide 64 Chevelle. What driveshaft will fit or do I need to have mine cut? 70's trans is longer than early Muncies.

just measure from the front, where the powerglide bolts to the engine, to the end of the powerglide.
then measure the length of your 4 speed with bellhousing and compare.
this should get you close.

Not only is a 70's Muncie longer, it uses a Turbo 400 style yoke. The trans is in the 3/4 range longer.

It also uses a different shifter than the other earlier Muncie. Or should I say different arms and rods.
