Title says it all. What is the easiest way to ding ceramic coated headers without messing up the coating? I've always had just regular painted headers which I could heat up with a torch, ding, then repaint.
thanks,

I used a rag folded a few times and a BFH, ball peen type. Just be accurate as to the spot your going to hit. Its a low rent thing to have to do but I had to do it...This was with freshly ceramic coated Hooker headers..Worked for me without any cracking or damage to ceramic coating

I used a section of roll bar tubing that was about 18 inches long. Placed it where needed on the header and whacked the pipe (repeatedly) with a hammer until I got the clearance needed. It really made me sick to beat on my headers like that, but it had to be done and turned out ok!
Hope this helps

I used a dead blow plastic hammer, and it didn't hurt the finish at all. We all hate to beat on new headers, but that is the only way to get them to fit. The dead blow worked great, and I was surprised that it worked that good
