on the chevelle tech forum I finally found out why I couldn't find the cast date, I looked above the bell housing pad, but I guess I was suppose to look on the side of the block above where the starter bolts. It looks like a I or a l and what kinda looks like a 8. the front of the motor is stamped TO204JA 2 G33540 I found it should be a 325 HP 4 speed 396 from a 69 chevelle. Can you tell me what the rest of the numbers are? thanks. Oh its a 272 casting big block

Block casting #3955272 is a '69 396 with either a 2 or 4 bolt main.
The G33540 I believe is the Veh. VIN #
