Does any one have pictures of their old gas tank straps. I also need to know which notch they fit into behind the rear axle. There are two notches on each brace the straps could fit into. I also need to know how many bends to make in the straps and where. I'm trying to fit new straps and don't have the old ones for reference.

This is from memory (2-years ago):

On my 66, the ends of the straps (the front end) are bent in a "V" shape... and they hook though both slots...

The V bend hooks the straps toward the rear (on the tank side)...

Can't recall dimensions, but about another 8 inches or so, the straps bend toward the rear, about a 135 degree bend because the straps weren't coming straight down. They teh go back under the tank, bending up and finishing with a hole for the rear bolt...

I should have a set off the car. If I can get to them (and find them), I will try and get digital pictures and rough dimensions...

I think there are repros available...
