blu66velle Mar 14th, 06, 10:59 PM check local stereo shops , they sell a plastic mounting kit for under dash . it is pretty slick and hides all the wires and stuff too. i think i got the one for my 66 at the car stereo install shop at best buy or circuit city and it was something like 20 dollars

Did you take out the rest of the glove box or was there enough room to put it in that was. Do you have any more Pict's or does any body els have any Pict's of there CD players in there glove boxes I am also going to be doing the same thing.
454Malibu Mar 15th, 06, 7:13 PM Sorry. No more pics. Yes, I had to cut the back out of the glovebox. Pretty easy with a hacksaw blade and 1 of those handles for broken blades. The hole actually holds the back up and in place as I cut it the same size as unit. The plate was made out of a thick peice of aluminum and painted black. I made a cardboard template 1st. I made some small L brackets for mounting. I removed the dash cover to install the brackets.
Finally Mar 15th, 06, 7:21 PM Put mine in the trunk, 6 disc changer.
the ss kid Mar 15th, 06, 9:23 PM i like the 6 disc changer idea a lot... but do u need a head unit still to power it and for controls or can u just use some kind of remote
Finally Mar 15th, 06, 9:36 PM This one was a few years old, had it laying around. Has a wired remote I ran under the carpet up to the console. Connects into the antenna wire connection. Ran a constant 12v feed and the switched 12v out of the radio. They make a lot of nice changers now, with remotes, but this one works and I already had it.
the ss kid Mar 15th, 06, 9:37 PM yea ill have to buy one i just didnt know if they had amps like built in
Finally Mar 16th, 06, 7:15 PM All different kinds, depends on what you want. I didn't want a separate amp so this worked good. You set the output station of the changer then tune to station on the radio.

the ss kid Mar 20th, 06, 3:30 PM does anyone have a cd player mounted under bucket seats?
Chris R Mar 22nd, 06, 12:52 AM For those that mounted thier unit in the glove box. Did you set it up inside so the bracket you made uses the factory holes. I dont feel like drilling holes inside my glove box area to install it.
454Malibu Mar 22nd, 06, 11:56 PM The only factory holes are the door and the little catch. Drilled new holes. Had to cut the back out anyway. A couple holes were'nt nothin.
