A local paint shop is trying to sell this brand to a friend of mine and they claim it's the best paint on the market...How true is this? It's just going to be GM victory red 0777-GM. If it happens to be decent paint, does anyone know where to get it on the WEB at a discounted price?

Thanks,

Lee

Lots of BESTS out there. I use Standox at work which from what I'm told is relabled Spies Hecker.
Very good product and it's user friendly because you really only have one hardner for primer, sealer and clear, just different temps.
I have used Standox for 6 years and yet to have one comeback from product failure,or my failure for that matter. Needless to say it is one of the best I've used. My .02 Mike

From what Ive heard standox and spies hecker are close cousins, almost the same but not.

Anyway every painter that Ive ever talked too that uses spies hecker just raves about it. Spies and Standox are good quality products I wouldnt hesitate to use them.
If I ever get around to working on and painting my new project 70, Ill probably be using Spies products over my preferred brand of PPG.

By the way if it helps any on your search Dupont NOW owns both Standox and Spies.

I know of a few stores in Iowa and Minn that sell both products MIGHT a have website. Goes by the name of Automotive finishes. Phone number 1800-747-5402 or try 1515-573-2241

Lee,

Keystone Automotive (http://www.keystone-auto.com/default.asp) is a large dealer of Spies and Hecker. Checkout their website, it looks like they have a location in SLC.

Good Luck. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
