OK here goes.My 70 SS396 had a crack in the
quarter panel when I bought it a few years ago.Its up on the sail panel where they put a
new quarter on and the guy I bought it from
told me that they brazed it on and it cracked
from the body twisting! Well I couldnt stand
to look at it anymore so last week I started
stripping the entire car to bare metal! The
brass has cracked on the new quarter.I know
this should be mig welded and I have one but
does anybody have a suggestion as how to get that brass out so the mig can weld steel to steel?Im afraid if i grind it the body metal will become too thin and let go after I am done my repaint! Man I wish people would do things right the first time......
