Hey,Fixed a small place in floorpan,Painted with por 15 and then used their etch primer so you can topcoat with anything. After doing all of this I noticed a place or two that needed a little more filler, can I put filler over the etch primer or do I need to spray epoxy primer or maybe even eastwoods rust encapuslator over the etch before putting more filler on? Thank's for any replies!!

everyone ive ever asked about this filler over etch issue has told me to basically never put filler over etch. youre probably going to have to spray epoxy over it.

Did you use their Tie-Coat? Is that really considered an etch primer?

This is a new product they just came out with.It is supposed to replace the tie coat primer. You can get it in spray rattle can or brush on.

The Tie Coat is not an Etch Primer to my knowledge, but POR also has a Self-Etching Primer for covering POR-15 which comes in a rattle can or by the quart and says "Self Etching Primer" right on the label. Thats probably what you have. I'd coat it with Epoxy Primer first just to be safe.
