Is there anyone on here useing US Body Source fiberglass hoods? If so how was the fit/finish? I called them today about there 70-72 SS Cowl hood for the Chevelle it is $500 which is a lot of money for a hood plus $100 shipping, would like some feed back on them before I go spend $600 on a hood. It is the bolt on hood they offer and I want to cut a hole in it for a blower this will make the thrid attempt at this so far, so I have a lot of money tied up in hoods right now and only want to do this one more time. Any Comments would be appricated. Thanks.

Ive used their hoods in the past. About the best thing i can say is they work but need work. Have you checked vfn fiberglass heres a direct link

Ive used their hoods on a fiew drag cars and surprisingly they fit right. The only complaint i have ever had was they take a 4-6 weeks to get a hood to you unless they have it already made.

I've got their cowl hood on my '70 now. The biggest complaint I have is the fit on the front end. It appears that their mold is a little off. Either side of the hood juts upward and toward the center in the area just above the headlights. Look at my website to see a closer shot of it and you will see what I mean. My car is in the paint shop right now and they are going to have to cut the hood on either side to drop the upward slope to where it will become level again. It is a bolt on style hood as well. Other than that minor issue, it is a good hood. I had to massage it a bit to sit level on the car as well but from what I understand, you will have to do that to just about every glass hood out there.
Looks like your ride will be sharp when it's completed. Have fun with your buildup.

I've always used harwood and never had any problems with fit or quality of finished product. I have used only the lift off hoods, but have seen the bolt on hoods and they're the same quality. I would steer AWAY from US body, or VFN, I have neard nothing but horror stories about them. Harwood is my #1 recomendation, and Glastek is #2, ONLY because I like the finish on harwood, nice clear shiny gelcoat. The Glastec stuff is more of a dull finish but still great pieces.
