Hello Everyone,
My 1971 Chevelle SS has just gone to the restoration shop for a complete workover. I am as nervous as a new father. I have complete confidence in the shop doing the work, but my question is...
What should I look for during the process? They are doing a complete frame off rework of the body.

Regards,

Look for a second job so you will be able to pay for it all http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif No, the main thing I would be looking at is to see that all important bolts are replaced with grade 8 bolts. Anything in the suspension, or drive train and they should all be replaced. One other thing that restoration shops are notorious for is keeping you're car forever. I would get a commitment from the owner as to when it will be done. Come June/July you are gonna want you're ride. I'm sure you will be able to see all the obvious stuff like cleaning the frame and undercarriage. Might want to change out those brake and fuel lines while you have the body off, that's the time to do it. You're gonna love it when it's done

Make sure it doesn't make its way into the corner and sit there without any work being done on it.Dust collecting on it and parts being stored on top of it or in it is a bad sign.
