ok i just got a 76 malibu 4door.I have always thought that they had two headlites on each side but mine has the round headlites. DID someone change my front clip?Or do they come with both in 76? thank for any info

I think both could be had. I see to recall awoman I used to know who had a '76 with round headlamps. It was funny cuz for the longest time I thought it was a '75. graemlins/clonk.gif

73-75 Chevelle's had single headlight's on each side. 76-77 had two on each side stacked on top of each other. You might have a different front clip or just the header panel and head light buckets from a different year , as the fender's and hood remained the same 73-77.Check out this site for info. 73-77 Chevelle (http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/9163/index.html)

You guys are close. In 76 you could get both. The Malibu Classic had 4 headlights, while the non-classics just had 2. I also think the classics had different rear quater windows, but I could be wrong. My grandfather had a 76 he bought new with 2 headlights.

The woman I used to know who had the '76.......hers was a 2 door with the two round headlamps and hers also had the standard roof.

A friend of mine's dad used to have a '76 Malibu Classic 2 door....it had the 4 stacked square headlamps and the landau roof.

OK Thanks all..mine is a plane jane malibu,ITS strange that i have not noticed this before!!I have demo derbied about 30 of these cars in 20 years.I know you dont like to hear that and now that im looking for parts i see why..But thanks for your help ..crash

For what it's worth, the headlight bezels are the same between the 1975 Malibu Classics and the 1976/7 plain Malibus.
