I'm doing a front drum to disc conversion and need one to complete the swap.

Seems like the local parts stores don't carry them, yet they carry just about everything else. I see Summit does but I didn't want to have to buy aftermarket.....unless they're better.

Also it looks like the Summit ones are adjustable???

Any help is much appreciated.

Junkyard Dawg,
Check Ground up, they have one that is stock appearing. I got mine from the bone yard and cleaned it up a little.
The ones from the speed shop are adjustable and require using it in the rear tubing only to control brake bias. Did you already get a new master cylinder? You'll need one of those to move the required fluid to the calipers.
Isn't this fun???

GM still has available a combination valve. The one that mounts down on the frame. It's different in appearance than stock and the top terminal(for light) is different but works great. Part # 25509418 if that helps. Pete

Thanks.

Scott, no I've not gotten a new master cyl. yet but that's on my list of "to-do" items.

Pete thanx for the p/n I'll ask the dealer if they still have this part.

For our Lemans we bough the new combination valve through our local GM dealer. Didn't look like the original but connected and worked just the same.

Junkyard Gawg,
I'm taking my original one off today. I could ship it to you. Replacing it with 4 wheel disc brakes and should be finished today with the project. The combo valve/proportioning valve is for front disc and rear drums with the sending unit for the stock light.

Just out of curiosity those of you who bought one at the dealer, how much did you give? The dealer said $130 for a new one.

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ wants 66.15+ship for that part.
They show you the dealer retail price as well as their "discount" price.

ACDELCO (http://www.oewarehouse.com/) wants 61.99+ ship. They cross the 25509418 to a 172-1354

http://www.autopartsgiant.com/ wants 80.94+ship for the delco number.

GMpartsdirect charges a lot of shipping. I dont know what the others charge.
