Is it off, or my imagination, and if it's off....any ideas on what could be causing it?

I think the bumper is too high.
The right side is OK, but it slants up and is high on the left.
I think that will fix the look on the grille.

Hmm...I'll have to measure that....what I was talking about was the space between the grill and the hood....almost like the top is jutting forward above the bottom

It looks to me (from only a picture) like the bumper needs adjustment, and the bottom of the grille looks like it's set back, causing the top of the grille to project outward??
Maybe need to bend a grille bracket or two....

The Bumper does look a little off but as far as the gap at the top is there any way the grill is in upside down?

The bumper is too high in the middle and the side, I'm not sure what to tell you about the gap between the grille and the hood. Did you get a reproduction core support or bumper? Sometimes they can mess things up. There's no way it could be upside down, the center screw mounts are only on the one side of the grille.
