okay, I know there are so many exhaust, muffler question on this site. I have been searching and reading mostly all of them since I am looking to get a brand new exhaust system for my 72 ss clone chevelle 350(convertible). engine is not so HOT as I would like it to be, but I would say its decent enough for right now(since im dead broke).
anyways, at first I was really excited about getting the super 40s FM, but after doing alot of reading and visiting other performance muffler site, I am more confused than ever.
This is what I am looking for,
interior lsound to be low(not to the point where it gets annoying)
exterior to have that deep growl sound when on the gas
that will intimdate others(specially imports that roll up next to me and mustangs, revin there engines at me)
at idle, I would like to have that HOT sound kinda like cracklin deep rumble, but not too loud at idle. I would like to idle and be noticed but not to be louder that when on the gas.

also, wich mufflers get the best highest performance,
I heard that flowmaster are not really good performance just sound,
and dynomax are flows are pretty good.
I have also checked out the street pros and are leaning toward those.
Flopros sound pretty good to me aslo

the one Im most curious about are the Goerlich XLerator . These are the best flowing mufflers and I heard one of the clips on here. man these sound mean.

I am getting them with the X-pipe system and with flowtech shorty headers
might get the long headers instead since I read that the long headers give better performance. not sure if thats true but still doin my research before im ready to get my exhaust system

wheeeww, man at first I couldnt wait to purchase the exhaust system, but didnt know that I would have such a difficult time choosing the right one.
I just want to make sure I get the right system so damm hard~!

Nice looking ride. You can get the complete mandrel bent Flowmaster 2.5 inch system for about $300 with mufflers. Easy to install, sounds good, enough room for your engine to grow. Your X will take a good chunck of the low growl out of your system.
