Some pics of goodmark 70 chevelle fenders. This is my 2nd pair of goodmarks that Ive bought and very happy with both sets that Ive bought! I had no tweaking or bending to make them fit. The only spots on both sets that I had to rework was where the corner light bolts onto the bottom of fender. The stamping just wasnt right so all it needed was about 10 mins of hammer and dolly work to rework that spot. The other spot was where the ext bolted the fender. When the ext was bolted on the gap was uneven, all that needed was some 180 grit or a vixen file to level out both the leading edges of the fender and ext.

This car came out of sunny San Bernardino, CA(rust free car  )been sitting in my shop for 2 years for the right time. Anyway the goodmark installed with the factory amount of shims, 3 (1..1/8 and 2..1/16)above the door hinge, 1 (1..1/16)down by the rocker. I did have to add one 1/8 shim on the firewall to help maintain door gap. Not bad as most of these cars have shims all over the place.
Hmmm I once had someone tell me that those goodmarks are ill fitting POS's.
Once I get my 72 truck out of the way, Ill get the other side on and then try out that NOS CI hood smile.gif

The fit on those fenders is EXTREMELY good....

Question(s):

Is the inner fender brace already on in these pictures? And, do you fit the fender first, THEN put the inner brace in?

Crankshaft, inner fender wasnt on when those pics were taken. When I fit fenders I fit the fenders without the inner on. This way am not fighting the inner too. Once I get the fender where I like it, I slip the inner fender in and then fit that to the support and fender. Make the needed tweaks. This pair of inners I bought from OPG the sticker has a name of Total Performance on them, so am assuming that they are not goodmark inners, why I didnt just buy them from goodmark like I always do  Anyways am not to happy with them. I needed to enlarge 2 or 3 holes, and even cut a pie cut into the lip and reweld it so it would fit the fender contour better. Most wouldnt even had seen that mismatch on the lip but am a perfectionist, it bugged the crap out of me to know that inner lip didnt match the fender lip graemlins/sad.gif

My last inners were goodmarks and they fit great no reworking like the ones I have now.

On a side note on pics labeled f8 and f9 the fender and ext are not out of whack when comparing them to the bumper. The front bumper is bent making the fenders look like they are too far back.
The pics just dont due the fitment on this things justice graemlins/thumbsup.gif ...Eric

Eric, If my original (oem) fenders fit that well, maybe my 66 Elky would be done by now! smile.gif redface.gif

Side note- Clicked on your briefcase-- How many pairs of Vice Grips do you own?

graemlins/beers.gif Maybe we could use that question as a fundraiser for the Northstar Chevelle Club. graemlins/beers.gif

Everyone puts in 10 bucks, guesses the contents of your tool box. Winner gets three free vice grips, slightly used! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Well Karl to answer that question I can honestly say that EVERY member of the Nstar club could take home 3 vise grips smile.gif

In the pic (if you counted) is 53 vise grips   That doesnt include the extra 4 being used!! So my total is 57 vise grips :D . Now the real kicker is thats just what I have at HOME in my box at work is about 30 to 40 more vise grips. For a grand total of around 90-100 vise grips...Holy Sh!t

What else can I say but
"Hi my name is Eric and am a vise grip addict"

Hold on for a sec Karl, this cmoing from a guy at a past meeting when showing his tool collection stated "I just got done collecting all the red handled screwdrivers etc then the sob's had to introduce GREEN handled srcewdrivers, I had to start all over again" Thought I would throw that one out :D :D

Guilty!!!

We never have enough tools!! redface.gif

It is genetic. My Grandfather was an Industrial Arts Teacher.

My soon to be 30 year old son has it really bad.

He had to have everything for both Mechanics, and Collision Techs. IN DOUBLES!! :D
